Im having trouble zeroing out my scope. i dont really get what people say about shooting and grouping my shots. Can someone give me an easier way or clarified instructions.
It is a TSD SD700 and the scope is an NCSTAR sporting scope. You have to unscrew a cover and use a coin to adjust it.

When you zero in an airsoft sniper just aim the rifle at the target and fire three shots at the same spot. Then, if your shots are consistently hitting to the left and above, adjust the windage and elevation knobs to the right and down, then fire another three shots. If the shots are still off, make slight adjustments until your crosshairs point right in the center of your grouping. Also make sure you use the same BBs to get consistent firing patterns.
Set up a target about 25 yards away. Set your gun on a rest and shoot at the target. Shoot 3 shots. Your scope probably is 1/4 moa per click, which means each click moves the point of impact about 1 inch at 100 yds. Say your shots hit 1″ low and 1/2″ to the left. That would mean translated to 100 yds it would 4″ low and 2″ left. So you would want to turn your elevation knob (top knob) 16 clicks in the up direction and the windage (right knob if you installed the scope correctly) 8 clicks right. Shoot 3 more and see if they hit the target. If not re adjust the scope and try again. Keep doing that until you hit where you are aiming. Then move the target out to 50 yds and repeat. You only have to adjust the knobs one half of what you would have adjusted them at 25 yds. After you have it sighted in at 50 yds, move the target out to 100 yds. If your projectiles are traveling around 3000 fps at the muzzle, adjust your scope so the projectile are hitting about 2″ high at 100 yds. At this distance, each 4 clicks of the adjustment will move the point of impact 1″. After you have it sighted in at 100 yds, you should be able to hold straight on out to 200 yds. OOPS, just saw airsoft. Get the cardboard roll out of a paper towel roll and duct tape it to the barrel for a genuine sniper scope. If you just want a standard scope, use the cardboard out of a toilet paper roll. Happy shooting.
